Toronto Police have released more information now, about a machete attack that left a 27-year-old woman dead.
The attack happened just after 6 o'clock on Fishery Road in Scarborough, near Ellesmere and Meadowvale.
Witnesses reported to police that they'd seen a man chasing a woman through the neighbourhood, weilding some sort of weapon.
That turned out to be a machete.
The man who attacked her, originally took off in a silver sports car, but later turned himself in to police.
He's now been charged with first degree murder and has been identified as 38-year-old Sasikaran Thanapalasingam, of Toronto.
Officers say the two had been in a releationship, but that relationship wasn't current.
Cops are asking anyone who may know anything or have any knowledge of any previoous history between the victim and the accused.
