Its not clear how he ended up in the garbage chute at a North York condo building Tuesday night

Toronto Police tell NEWSTALK 1010 this morning a man has been killed after falling down a garbage chute at a North York condo building.

Investigators have told the NEWSTALK 1010 newsroom the incident appears to be "accidental."

Foul play is not suspected.

It's not clear how the man ended up in the falling an estimated 9 floors to his death.

It happened around 10 p.m. on Tuesday night on Erskine Avenue, close to Eglinton and Mount Pleasant.

The man is said to be 30, but it's not known if he may have been a resident or employee of the building.

Police are checking to see if there was a problem with the door on the chute, which could lead to him falling in.
