A 21-year-old man has been gunned down in a Scarborough apartment complex hallway.
It happened on the 3rd floor around 10:45 a.m. Sunday at an apartment on Eglinton Avenue near Markham Road.
Toronto police say the victim, who they have not named, was shot several times. Det. Hank Idsinga says at least a dozen shots were fired.
"It's actually fairly concerning to us," he said, "as you can imagine in a residential hallway in an apartment building, I'm glad no one else was struck by any of these stray rounds."
The victim lives in the building and there were several other people in the unit, but police haven't said how they know each other.
Det. Idsinga says it doesn't appear that the suspect lives in the building, "it doesn't look like our suspect was buzzed in, he followed another resident into the building."
The suspect is described as a male dressed in dark clothing, but Det. Idsinga says once they get a better look at surveillance footage they will have a cleared description.
