It will most definitely be a white Christmas in most of Southern Ontario, with two more bands of snowy weather moving in from the U.S.
A special weather statement issued by Environment Canada warnings of widespread snowfall of 5 to 10 cm Christmas Eve, with high amounts possible near the Lake Ontario shore.
The snow is expected to begin late Sunday afternoon with the bulk falling that night.
The agency says general snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected by the time the snow ends early Monday morning.
In a release EC says, While the winter wonderland will be lovely to see come Christmas Day, it could contribute to challenging travelling conditions for those visiting family and friends over the holidays."
Driving conditions are expected to be poor with limited visibility during the snowiest times. However, conditions are expected to improve by midday Monday, Christmas Day.
The forecasted snowstorms will be followed by several days of bitterly cold temperatures starting on Boxing Day.
