The German Shepherd who attacked a small dog on the weekend in Scarborough, will have to wear a muzzle in public for the rest of its life.
Dr. Clayton Greenway, is a NEWSTALK 1010 host and the lead veternatian at West Hill Animal Clinic. He operated on Eugene, the Miniature Pinscher-Terrier mix who was the victim of the attack that happened on Sunday in Scarborough.
The owner of Eugene, said the person responsible for the German Shepherd first agreed to pay for the vet, but then took off.
They were later found, and Greenway says the muzzle order was given.
He says the owner does have the chance to appeal, but admittedly getting that muzzle order lifted is a difficult process.
As for Eugene, he's going well after surgery and was able to go home the very same day.
And the $2200 in vet bills have been covered by the 'Oscar Fund' set up at West Hill Animal Clinic. Dr. Greenway says that fund is generated through fundraisers and is used for situations just like these.
