The TTC is making it easier for people to get to Bluffer's Park and enjoy the outdoors.
On Sunday, Mayor John Tory was on hand to launch the new 175 Bluffer's Park accessible bus service.
It runs between Kennedy Station and Bluffer's Park Beach every 15 minutes during the day and early evening's on Saturday, Sunday and holidays until October 6th.
"It can be, right now, upwards of a one and a half to two-kilometre walk to get here, and there's a lot of people who just aren't going to do that," Tory remarked, saying they are missing out on the opportunity to see one of the most scenic parts of the city.
"We want people from Toronto - many of whom I would guess have never been here before - to see this because they didn't think you could get here, they didn't know how to get here, and now we're making it easy."
The trek out to Bluffers Park has always been particularly difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
The seasonal service was approved as a trial in January. A follow-up report will be presented to the TTC board in December.
