The all clear has been given after fears of a gas or chemical leak from a Vaughan rail yard.
Hwy 7 was blocked between Creditstone Rd and Keele St for a few hours Monday out of what police called "an abundance of precaution" after a rail yard employee collapsed near a tanker car.
The rail yard's dangerous goods officers did tests and determined there was no leak.
While police initially said the man had smelled a bad odour before collapsing, Brian Culp, a platoon chief with Vaughan Fire tells NEWSTALK 1010 that was probably an incorrect report.
Deryn Rizzi, Deputy Chief with Vaughan Fire says they didn't have information from the employee to go on as he had already been taken to hospital when firefighters arrived.
Using software on their Hazmat truck, firefighters plugged in the name of the chemical and information about wind speed and direction to give them an L-shaped hazard zone. Businesses in the area were told to keep people inside.
It is not clear what condition the collapsed man is in now.
