Toronto Police say three people were injured on Tuesday afternoon after gunfire broke out in a residential area near Jane St. and Sheppard Ave.
Const. David Hopkinson says calls for help came in from North York around 5:15pm, when callers to 911 reported hearing the sound of gunshots.
When police arrived they found a man and woman suffering from bullet wounds, and there were bullet casings scattered nearby.
A third victim was found a short time later. All the injuries have been described as non life-threatening.
Hopkinson says officers noted that there were children not far away.
Police say they're looking for a black SUV that was seen driving away from the scene of the shooting, but so far there's no word on what the shooter looks like.
Toronto Police are investigating.
