A person is dead after a fire in the Junction Triangle.
Firefighters were called to a home on Sarnia Ave near Dupont St and Lansdowne Ave at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Neighbours told firefighters that someone was trapped on the upper floor where smoke was coming out from under a door.
The person was pronounced dead on scene, but their age and gender are not currently known. Deputy Chief Jim Jessop could not say how the person died, nor could he confirm if there were smoke alarms in the home.
Firefighters brought the fire under control but still do not know the cause. The Ontario Fire Marshal will be investigating.
