Provincial Police are checking to see if a formal investigation is warranted into the Ford government over allegations of illegal lobbying.
It was MPP Randy Hillier who first raised the issue as one of his reasons of why he thought he was kicked out of the PC Caucus.
As one of the ten reasons, he added "for raising concerns of possible illegal and unregistered lobbying by close friends and advisers employed by Premier Ford."
He wouldn't elaborate on the allegations after being questionned about them later.
On Thursday at Queen's Park, NDP MPP Gilles Bisson stood and announced that the OPP Anti-Rackets Branch had taken up the investigation after receiving a complaint from the NDP.
The Ford Government has long denied any wrong-doing.
