Peel Regional Police are thanking the media and the public for their quick response as officers investigated a possible kidnapping in Brampton Saturday near Larkspur Public School.
It was reported earlier that a male victim was walking near Larkspur Road Public School in the City of Brampton just after 6 p.m. when the incident occurred.
"A vehicle approached the male and two individuals exited the vehicle, grabbed the male that was walking and threw him in the trunk of a silver Honda Civic."
Turns out there was no kidnapping.
Police released an updated media release just after 5 p.m. today.
It says in part:
"After a thorough investigation was conducted by police, the individuals involved in this incident were identified. The involved participants were interviewed and police are satisified that this was not a kidnapping incident but in fact a group of males attempting to simulate a movie type scene."
