Peel Regional Police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for a shooting suspect in Mississauga earlier this month.
Constable Danny Marttini says officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Delmonte Crescent and Brandon Gate Drive, near Morning Star Drive and Highway 427, on November 10th just after 11 p.m.
"A number of shell casings were located along with the suspect vehicle that had actually driven into the parked cars in that area," she told NEWSTALK1010. "It was left behind. Forensics have gone through it."
Marttini says everyone involved with the shooting fled the scene before officers arrived.
"However, through our investigation, we were able to - later - identify the victim who did not sustain injuries from that incident."
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Travon Edwards-Bryan of Mississauga.
On Sunday morning, officers executed a search warrant at his home, but Marttini says Edwards-Bryan was not found.
Police believe he is armed and dangerous and therefore, a threat to to public safety.
He is described as male black, 6’4”, approximately 170 lbs with a medium build.
"This is the first time that we're putting this out there to the public in regards to this level of news release," Marttini said, adding that the initial investigation involved local door knocking and checking out video surveillance.
"[Because] we've tried and we've gone to his residence and we haven't been successful, we are now really putting it out to everybody in the public - if there's anybody out there who knows anything, to let us know."
If you spot him, Peel Police say to call 911 immediately or investigators at the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205.
