Two homes were heavily damaged.
This is three kilometres away from a suspicious fire Tuesday morning on Alwin Circle, the second suspicious fire in that area in less than a month, but Pickering firefighters do not believe Wednesday morning's fire is a case of arson.
From the scene NEWSTALK 1010 has learned neighbours had raised concerns about possible hoarding inside the home.
Firefighters had been to one of the homes before to address those issues.
