A person has been struck by a VIA train near the Danforth GO station.
Police received the call around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Metrolinx has confirmed the person has died.
Lakeshore East GO service has been temporarily suspended while police invesitgate.

Lakeshore East
- A person has been struck by a VIA Train near the Danforth GO station and Lakeshore East Line service to Danforth GO and Scarborough GO is temporarily suspended. Trains will be ending and beginning at the Guildwood GO station.
For passengers travelling west of Guildwood to Union Station; Train service will run between Oshawa and Guildwood GO. Shuttle buses from Guildwood will take you to Eglinton GO and then to Kennedy GO (right beside Kennedy TTC Subway station) where you can use your PRESTO card or GO ticket at a staffed entrance on the TTC and travel to Union Station, Scarborough GO and Danforth GO.
There will be some delays and cancellations as a result. We will provide and update of any changes.
- The Union Station 10:13 - Oshawa GO 11:08 train is cancelled because a train has struck a person near Danforth GO Station. TTC protocol is in effect at Kennedy Station. Passengers can take TTC to Kennedy Station where there will be GO bus connections to bring passengers to Guildwood GO to connect with GO trains travelling towards Oshawa.
