Police say two Toronto men facing drug and gun charges are considered persons of interest in a fatal shooting at a banquet hall in Vaughan.
York Regional Police say gunshots were fired both inside and outside during a private party at Dream Palace Restaurant and Banquets on Keele near Rivermede Road, at about 4:15 Saturday morning.
They say 23-year-old Devin Degoias, of Toronto, died shortly after being taken to hospital.
Police say another man died at the scene but he has not yet been identified.
Officers say Elvis Simmons, 24, and Jordan Thomas, 25, were arrested by Toronto police on 10 firearm and drug related charges.
They say they're investigating the two suspects in connection to the double homicide.
Both men made court appearances in Newmarket on Sunday, and will each be reappearing in court at separate times over the next week and a half.
Investigators continue to appeal to witnesses and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen or heard anything, to come forward.
They're also looking for surveillance footage from nearby businesses as well as dashcam video from any vehicles who may have been driving along Keele or Rivermede at the time of the shooting.
Meantime, NEWSTALK1010's media partners CP24 and CTV News report Degoias was previously charged with aggravated assault following a fight and gunfire that broke out at a banquet hall in Aurora in July 2016.
Three women and one man were hurt in that incident.
