Peel Regional Police have identified the male body found in the Credit River in Mississauga Saturday.
At approximately 9:10 a.m. police were called to the river near Pine Tree Crescent and Stavebank Road when someone saw a body in the water.
Officers with the Marine Unit pulled the body from the water, but there was no identification on him.
Through fingerprint identification the body has been identified as 47-year-old Albert Walters from Brampton.
Mr. Walters had been reported missing by his family on April 12, 2017 and last seen in the Fleetwood Crescent and Bramalea Road area in Brampton.
Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing, but they do not believe foul play is involved.
