A 26-year-old man is dead after he was shot while walking to his car in Etobicoke Friday night.
Toronto Police say they got a call for an apparent shooting around 11:10 p.m. Friday on Scarlettwood Court, in the Scarlett Road and ALwrence Avenue West area. When officers arrived they found a man with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Det. Paul Worden told our sister station CP24 the victim was visiting friends in the housing complex and was walking to his car when the shooting happened.
"He was approached by two suspects from behind who both opened fire on him, striking him in the back." Det. Worden said.
Police identified the victim as Nnamdi Ogba. Det. Worden said he was not known to police and the motive for the shooting is not yet clear.
Witnesses told police they saw two people running north from the area.
Det. Worden said there were lots of cars parked on Scarlettwood Court Friday night, "If there are any dash-cams that were activated last night, if they can check their dash-cams from approximately 11 p.m. to about 11:30 p.m. (Friday night) and if they see anything that they think is suspicious – specifically two males running – we would appreciate that."
