Toronto police are investigating a fatal shooting in Regent Park.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Lemard Champagnie, of Toronto.
Police say they were called to the Regent Street and Cole Street, near the area of Parliament Street and Dundas Street East, for a shooting.
Officers arrived to find Champagnie with life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he later died.
Detective Andy Singh told the media Champagnie was walking northbound on Regent Street toward Cole Street when a black SUV drove northbound on Regent Street and as it approached Cole Street people in the vehicle opened fire on Champagnie hitting him multiple times.
Det. Singh says through their investigation there was another victim was was fired at, but did not sustain any injuries.
They are looking into the relationship between Mr. Champagnie and the other victim, who police are not identifying, but believe they knew each other.
Police do believe this was a targetted attack.
