Police in Durham Region are looking into three deadly overdoses.
Authorities say the bodies of the men were found on Friday morning at two locations in eastern Durham Region.
A man in his 30's and a man in his 40's were found dead at an apartment complex in Ajax.
The body of a man in his 20's was found at an address in Bowmanville.
Durham Regional Police constable George Tudos says there's reason to believe that the deaths are linked to the potent painkiller fentanyl.
They're looking into the possibility that it had been mixed with other drugs.
This news comes roughly 2 months after police in Durham Region fanned out a warning about fentanyl after paramedics responded to 8 overdoses over the course of one weekend in June.
Health and law enforcement authorities in Toronto have recently dealt with a string of overdose deaths caused by the same drug.
Tudos says the coroner's office will perform post-mortem exams to confirm the cause of death.
