UPDATE Police looking for Mercedes in crash that injured seven on the Gardiner

Police were called around 1210 a.m., to the eastbound lanes between Highway 427 and Kipling.

The eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway were closed for about eight hours Tuesday morning following a collision that left several people injured.

Police were called around 12:10 a.m., to the eastbound lanes between Highway 427 and Kipling.

They initially thought there were two vehicles involved but police say, after speaking with witnesses, they now believe there was a third vehicle that left the scene.

They are now looking for a 2009–2012 Mercedes Benz GL series with front-end damage. Investigators aren't sure of the colour.

Police say an Acura EL was rear ended by a Lincoln Town car.

A 24-year old passenger in the Acura was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
