Peel Regional Police say they have found the suspect vehicle that hit and dragged an OPP officer in Mississauga this morning, but it was unoccupied.
Peel police say the incident happened on Hurontario Street near Highway 403 during what they are calling a "routine traffic stop" around 9 o'clock.
The vehicle dragged the officer a short distance, then took off.
The officer, who has been identified as PC Patrick Chatelain with the Port Credit detachment, was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition. Police now say his condition has been dowgraded to non-life threatening injuries.
Constable Bally Saini spoke to the media from the scene Monday moring. She said there were four people in the car, a black male driver, white female passenger and two other people in the back seat. The vehicle drove off north on Hurontario Street.
At around 4 p.m. Peel Regional Police tweeted the suspect vehicle had been located in the Trailwood Drive and Hurontario Street area, but it was unoccupied and they are still looking for the suspects involved.
