The inconvenience wasn't a long one after all.
Just when it looked like Go Train commuters may be severely impacted by a power outage early Saturday, the power and service were restored just before 10 a.m.
A power outage Saturday morning caused signal problems for Eastbound trains on the Lakeshore line forcing a full stoppage of service.
Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins confirmed to NEWSTALK 1010 the power outage and signal issues were only affecting eastbound service, not westbound.
"The source of the signals being down is that there was a power failure around the area of our Guilwood plant, which then sends power to our signals."
Crews were dispatched to try and find the source of the issue and found success fairly quickly, great news for the thousands who rely on Go train service on the weekends
Good news. Power is on. Signals are back up @GOtransitLE & train service resuming. Thx for your patience. @CP24 @CBCToronto @680NEWS @NEWSTALK1010 @starradiobox
