Power has been restored to some 21,000 Toronto Hydro customers who had to stumble through their morning routines without it.
Toronto Hydro spokesperson Tori Gass says power supply from Hydro One was knocked out at about 5:45 a.m. Monday.
The outage affected an area bounded by Yonge St, Eglinton Ave E, Victoria Park Ave and Lake Shore Blvd.
The problem knocked out subway service on Line 2 between Woodbine and Broadview stations.
Subway cars started to move at about 8:15 a.m. as Hydro One transferred power back to Toronto Hydro.
Hydro One has not been able to say what caused the problem.
