Resident at a Toronto Community Housing buillding will not be returning home this weekend.
There was word some residents may have been able to return home today, but TCH says there were unforeseen issues with repairs and they won't allow people back in.
Crews are working to clean-up and repair the damage.
The Canadian Red Cross has stepped in to provide basic immediate needs including shelter to those displaced.
They say 80 people are staying in hotels.
The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the 130-unit building on George Street near Dundas just before 6 p.m. Thursday.
One person was killed and five others were injured.
Greg Spearn, the president and CEO of TCH, said Friday several floors were damaged in the fire, with the fourth floor expected to be out of commission for several weeks.
Floors 1 through 3 have water damage while the fifth floor suffered smoke damage as well.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
