A registered service dog named “Princess’ that was stolen outside a west-end fast-food restaurant has been returned to her owner, police say.
The owner, 28-year-old Ashley-Victoria Martineau, tied the dog to a railing outside a McDonald's at Bloor Street and Ossington Avenue around 2 a.m. Sunday and went inside.
Police allege that while the owner was in the restaurant, somebody unclipped the dog from its harness and took it from the scene.
They have released security camera footage of a man and a woman believed responsible for the theft.
The six-year-old Teacup Chihuahua was found safe and sound wandering around King Street .
She was reunited with her owner around 9 p.m. Sunday.
