UPDATE: Police say they've seized the suspect vehicle, but haven't been able to locate any of its occupants.
Sheppard has now reopened.
ORIGINAL: A bizarre situation unfolding in North York this hour.
Toronto Police say it started out as a simple call for a minor crash on Sheppard, between Jane and the 400.
When officers arrived, they found the occupants of one vehicle had taken off, leaving the car abandoned on the road.
When investigators looked inside, they found ammunition.
Police are setting up a perimeter in the area to look for the occupants of this vehicle. It's not known how many suspects there are, or if they have a firearm on them.
The driver who remained on scene suffered minor injuries and is being treated by paramedics.
Right now Sheppard is closed in the area, and police will provide more updates on the closures shortly.
