A single car crash in Port Credit early Saturday morning has claimed the life of the male driver.
Peel Regional Police have confirmed via twitter that the victim involved in the collision at around 2:25 a.m. was rushed to hospital but later died of his injuries.
The accident occurred on Lakeshore Road East and Stavebank Road.
Const. Danny Marttini told our media partner CP24 Saturday morning the vehicle likely came into the crash site at a high rate of speed.
"The man was travelling eastbound on Lakeshore Road, came over the crest of the bridge and for some reason lost control of their vehicle [...] collided into several items, the vehicle fell apart and was actually ejected from his vehicle."
There are reports that the driver is a 38-year-old man from Burlington.
Police have not ruled out speed or possible impaired driving as a factor in the crash.
