UPDATE SIU investigating after woman in her 60s injured in the College and Lansdowne area.

Toronto police were called for "unknown trouble" in the area around 445 a.m. Monday.

Ontario's police watch dog is investigating after a woman was found with life threatening injuries in the city's west end.

The SIU released a statement that said Toronto Police were called to a residence on Saint Clarens Avenue in the Bloor Street and Lansdowne Avenue area around 4:45 a.m. Monday.

The SIU says police found a 60-year-old woman between the residence and another house. 

She was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The SIU is an arm's length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
