The province's Special Investigations Unit has been called in following a crash in Scarborough.
Police say a car drove into a house in the area of Morningside Avenue and Staines Road just before midnight on Friday.
The crash caused a natural gas leak but fire crews were able to quickly cut off the supply.
Nearby residents did not have to be evacuated from their homes.
A 28-year-old man suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital.
The SIU has assigned five investigators, two forensic investigators, and a collision reconstructionist to examine the circumstances of this incident.
The S.I.U. is called in when police are involved in a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
