Philadelphia police say six officers have been shot in an ongoing standoff with a man barricaded in a home.
Thankfully, all of their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, after the man started shooting, reportedly after cops tried to execute a search warrant.
Police Commissioner Richard Ross several hours after the standoff began, the man continued to fire rounds.
"This situation is in no way resolved," he said around 8 p.m. ET. "We are trying to communicate to him that we want him out safely, even going as far as telling him that the officers are going to be okay and that there's nothing that we can't work through.
Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said he spoke to all the officers involved and they're all in good spirits.
"One of the officers who had the graze wound to the head and he had two little boys that looked like they were nine or 10 years old," he said. "I kept on thinking about how their lives would've changed just with a little bit more difference in space."
Temple University went on lockdown because of the incident.
