Southern Ontario has been on a weather rollercoaster ride for the past week, and it appears that pattern continues.
Overnight snowfall accumulation for Toronto and the GTA was supposed to be about 2 cms. Instead nearly 5 cms fell and more snow continued to fall throughout early Sunday morning
according to Environment Canada.
"Another 2-5 cms, depends on where you are."
Call it a bonus snowfall this weekend with more on the way.
Another 5 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected to fall on Toronto and the GTA Monday evening into Tuesday, followed by another plunge into frigid temperatures.
However, areas to the east of the GTA - including Cobourg, Belleville, Picton and Kingston - will get an extra 5 to 10 centimetres ahead of that storm.
As for the snow coming in on Monday, Environment Canada says it won't be "quite as intense" as the storm we experienced last weekend.
"There might be some areas that do get enhanced bands, but it is a little far out to be able to tell exactly where the highest amounts are going to be right now," severe weather meteorologist Desjanelle Matthews told NEWSTALK1010.
"It could start to get bad later in the commute Monday, but that would be more near the beginning of the event," Matthews said. "It would be worse for sure Tuesday morning."
Once that has moved out of the area, it's another drop in temperatures, with highs of just -14 C forecasted for Wednesday and Thursday.
"We could be potentially be in the minus 20 to 25 windchill value range again Tuesday night into Wednesday, hanging around for Thursday."
Temperatures on Friday are expected to warm up - sort of - to -8 C.
