A 17-year-old boy is facing charges, after police busted up what appears to have been a planned attack on a Toronto high school.
Investigators say they received a call from someone in the United States about a threat against Oakwood Collegiate on St Clair West.
They say the alleged threat was made on a blogging site and they were able to trace it back to a Toronto District School Board computer.
Investigators say, with the help of the Toronto District School Board's IT security unit, they were able to trace the user.
The boy was was arrested early Tuesday morning, and no further measures were taken to secure the school.
Police say a search of the boy's home turned up a machete, a hatchet, two swords, four knives, and arrows (for a bow-and-arrow set) .
He can't be named because of his age, but he's been charged with uttering death threats and uttering threats of bodily harm.
The boy has already had his first court appearance and is now out on bail.
Officers believe the attack may have been planned to happen on the 27th anniversary of massacre at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.
TDSB spokesperson Ryan Bird says a letter has gone home to parents.
Bird says the boy is a TDSB student but he could not say whether he was a student at Oakwood Collegiate.
