Three people have been killed in a head-on collision in Pickering.
OPP say two vehicles collided on Hwy 7 near Sideroad 26 just after noon Thursday.
Sgt Dean Korn says a BMW tried to pass another vehicle in the westbound direction. After the driver lost control, it collided head-on with an eastbound Mercedes.
A fourth person has been airlifted to hospital in critical condition, and a fifth person has minor injuries. There were four people in the BMW and one in the Mercedes.
Hwy 7 is closed between Sideroad 26 and Sideroad 28.
Police have not released the ages and genders of the three people who were killed, as they still have to notify their families.
