Peel Regional Police have identified the victims of a double homicide inside a Brampton home Friday night.
32-year-old Baljit Thandi and her 60-year-old mother, Avtar Kaur were found in the home near Dixie Road and Sandalwood Parkway around 10:45 p.m.
Police say the pair were found with obvious signs of trauma.
A child was also found in the home. They were not injured and have been handed over to the Children’s Aid Society.
Thandi's husband 29-year-old Dalwinder Singh was found in the home and taken into custody.
Early Saturday morning, Police were called to a home on Marmac Crescent in Mississauga after a woman was stabbed. The female was pronounced dead on the scene. Two children were injured as was a male, who was arrested on scene. All three were transported to hospital. The children were said to be in stable condition.
One of the neighbours spoke to CP24.
"Both of them seem like very polite people. They both seemed like very organized, clean house you never seen any issues of arguements or fights."
The SIU has envoked its mandate releasing a statement confirming "there was an interaction between police officers and the man. The man was taken into custody and subsequently transported to hospital where he was diagnosed with a serious injury."
Two investigators and one forensic investigators have been assigned to this incident.
