Man, it's another hot one!
Despite showers cooling things off a touch on Saturday afternoon, Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Toronto, most of the GTA (with the exception of Newmarket and Aurora) and the Niagara Region.
The weather agency says a hot, humid airmass will be moving through the Golden Horseshoe on Sunday and Monday, as temperatures combined with humidex values will make it feel close to 40 C.
Sunday Toronto's medical officer of health issued it's own heat warning for the GTA. Temperatures are expected to hit 31c Sunday, but with the humidex will feel closer to 36. And will sizzle even more on Monday coming close to 40c.
A cold front is expected to move through early on Tuesday to usher in more sesonal temperatures.
There's also a risk of showers and thunderstorms each day until the cold front moves in.
During a heat warning, seniors, young children, pregnant women and those with health problems - particularly cardiac or lung related issues - are advised to stay in an air-conditioned environment and keep well hydrated. People who work outdoors are also told to take precautions and stay within a shaded area as often as possible.
