Two men in their 20's have been taken to hospital and another two are said to be in police custody following a daylight shooting in the Beaches Sunday afternoon.
Toronto Police say it happened at about 2:30 p.m.
"It is believed that the incident may have occurred or may have began at Woodbine and Kingston Road," Insp. Anthony Paoletta told reporters in an update Sunday afternoon. "At this point in time, I believe that the victims may have been in a vehicle and the incident began at that intersection."
"The vehicle with the victims [then] travelled south to Queen Street and the occupants went into a local business."
It's believed the two suspects other men were seen getting out of a vehicle and fleeing the area on foot with some type of firearm.
"Two males have been taken into custody," Insp. Paoletta said. "We've also located three firearms in relation to this event [that] we believe are related to this incident."
The two victims were conscious and breathing and were treated at local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers and the K9 Unit spent the afternoon trying to figure out the exact location where the shooting occurred, as police said the scene covered quite a large area.
Investigators also recovered a number of shell casings in the area.
Police cannot confirm if there were any additional suspects, or if there was a third victim, according to some reports.
Queen Street East was closed at Woodbine, while Woodbine was closed from Kingston Road to Queen in both directions.
Police said they anticipated the closures would be in place "for quite some time," until at least mid-evening Sunday.
