Hours after a news conference by Toronto Police two suspects are now in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man at a Dixon Road apartment building earlier this week.
In the conference police issued arrest warrants for 19 year old Zayn Q. Chaudry and 20 year old Yahya Abdirahman.
29-year-old Abdulkadir Bihi was found with gunshot wounds in a vehicle outside 263 Dixon Road at around 2:45 p.m. on October 5. He was rushed to hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.
At the news conference Sunday police said officers from 23 Division and members of the Emergency Task Force executed a Criminal Code search warrant in Oakville, in the Speers Road and Kerr Street area Saturday, where the 2 suspects were thought to be.
As a result of the execution of that search warrant, three men were arrested and two firearms, ammunition and magazines were seized $27,663 in Canadian currency, drugs and drug paraphernalia were also seized.
Liban Hussein, 23, Deshawn Hibbert, 26 and Jamal Hibbert, 30, all from Toronto, are facing numerous weapons and drug related charges. None of the individuals have been charged in connection with the homicide.
