Toronto Police have released the name of the victim as they continue to investigate a deadly shooting that led to panic in a downtown lounge.
It happened just before 2 a.m. Friday, on the sidewalk in front of 366 Queen Street East, near Parliament in the city's Corktown neighbourhood.
Police responded to reports of multiple shots fired.
Reports from the scene suggest the shots could be heard over the music inside the club, sending club-goers running to the back of the building for cover.
A man was found shot, several times at close range, on the sidewalk. He has now been identified as 24-year-old Jaunoi Christian of Brampton.
Investigators believe the victim was targeted. A post-mortem was scheduled for Saturday.
Const. David Hopkinson tells NEWSTALK1010 they're looking for a man who was seen running from the area. He's described as black, 6'0", in his mid 30s with a medium build.
He was last seen wearing a blue and white toque, a dark-coloured jacket and blue jeans.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area in the time or who may have photos or video of what happened to come forward.
