The gun play in Peel Region continuing this long weekend.
For the second night in a row, a man was fatally shot.
This time around in a parking lot of a restaurant at 3480 Hurontario Street near Central Parkway in Mississauga.
Peel Police Const. Akhil Mooken confirmed in a Sunday morning briefing that they received calls for gun shots just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
"Upon arrival we did locate an adult male suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of an apparent gunshot wound. Unfortunately despite the best efforts from first responders, he did die as a result of those injuries."
Mooken wouldn't confirm if police are looking for one suspect or many, but they continue to talk to witnesses to gather information about the events that led to the shooting.
"To try and determine exactly what happened and to try and figure out why the victim was here and who he was with if anyone."
Mooken was asked if this shooting and the two in Peel Region Saturday, one in Brampton the other in Mississauga, are connected.
"There is no indication at this time if these three shootings that we've had, over the last 48-hours, are connected. Our investigators will work together to determine if there's any connection at all."
Police have identified the victim as 24-year-old Kyle Clouden of Mississauga.
Anyone who may have been in the area of the restaurant between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. who may have dashcam or cell phone footage is asked to contact Peel Police or Crime Stoppers.
