We have new details on that wild crash on the westbound 401 near Bayview, just before 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.
Dash cam video appears to show a dump truck pushing a silver Honda Civic sideways, several metres, into the guardrail.
We told you earlier today that police spoke with both drivers. Apparently the truck driver told officers he didn't see the car.
The driver of the Honda Civic was taken to hospital with minor injuries, but has since been released.
He spoke with our media partner CTV News Toronto about the terrifying accident.
"All of sudden, he started changing lane and hitting me like that, which made my car to swing around, so I was like screaming and honking and it didn't help at all. I thought he was going to crush me against that wall."
While the investigation is ongoing, Provincial Constable Taylor Konkle tells NEWSTALK1010 that charges against the driver of the truck are pending.
"The potential charges could be careless driving, cause he wasn't driving with due care and attention to other vehicles."
And since the video went viral, more witnesses have reached out to police.
PC Konkle says they've also been in touch with the person who shot the video to try and get more answers into what happened minutes before the crash.
As for the transport truck seen trailing behind the dump truck, this is what PC Konkle had to say: "Apparently the vehicle was sideways in front of the dump truck...the Honda Civic, while sideways, it clipped the back tires of the transport trailer, and that's why he was pulling off to the shoulder too, cause he believed he was involved in the collision as well."
NEWSTALK1010 will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as they become available.
