It's not spring just yet and Mother Nature is apparently gearing up to remind us of that.
A pair of wicked winter storms are tracking toward Southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says much of the GTA including Toronto, Durham Region, Peel Region and York Region could see 10 to 15 cm of snow by the time the system blows out Tuesday night.
Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton and Niagara are under winter storm warnings for what Environment Canada meteorologist Peter Kimbell says could be the worst storm of the season in those areas. Spots covered by a winter storm warning could see 15-25 cm of snow with some localized snowfalls of as much as 30 cm.
Cold Arctic air already over the Great Lakes will translate into a dry, fluffier snow, which could mean problems with blowing snow as winds pick up.
Kimbell expects the first flakes to begin to fall late Monday morning with about 2 cm accumulation for areas not covered by the warning. Snow is expected to intensify Monday into Tuesday with another 2-4 cm possible and another 5 cm through the day Tuesday.
The snowfall is expected to slow Tuesday's morning commute and could create problems with air travel.
