Environment Canada is warning GTA drivers of a possible slippery evening commute on Thursday.
The weather agency has issued a Winter Weather Travel Advisory the Greater Toronto Area.
Meteorologists say a cold front is expected to track over southern Ontario Thursday afternoon.
As the front passes through, the temperature is expected to drop from a high of 9 degrees, to 2 in the afternoon, and dropping down to minus 10 Thursday night. With the winds, it will feel more like minus 18 overnight.
As the temperature drops, scattered showers will change to flurries.
The agency says that untreated surfaces could become icy into the evening commute.
City of Toronto's transportation department says staff will be patrolling the roads, and crews will be sent out immediately when needed.
Areas north of the GTA are also under a snow squall watch. It includes northern York region, Caledon, Barrie and Collingwood.
Environment Canada says some areas that get multiple squalls could get as much as 15cm of snow Thursday night, into Friday.
