A woman has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Mississauga, on Friday night.
Peel region police say officers responding to a stabbing call around 10:20 p.m. at a building near Lakeshore Boulevard and Hurontario Street found a man with severe injuries. They say the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have identified him as 54-year-old Michael Johnston and say an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
Mary Ljubanovich, 48, of Mississauga has been charged in his death and is expected in court Saturday.
Police Const. Danny Marttini says the two were in a romantic relationship and investigators are treating this as a domestic incident.
Homicide detectives say there are no outstanding suspects. They are asking anyone with possible information about the case to contact them.
