Police have identified the victim of a stabbing in the Annex Wednesday afternoon.
Abbegail Elliott, 21, died in the incident in the Spadina and Bloor St. area around 4:30.
Police say they responded to a call for the sound of gunshots at 70 Spadina Road, which they say is the same location that they were called to for exact same reason on Monday, just before 5:30 p.m.
However, despite the sound of shots, investigators confirm Elliott was stabbed to death.
Toronto Police Const. Dave Hopkinson told Newstalk 1010 that paramedics did everything they could to save the victim's life.
"We knew that the woman's injuries were very serious, " he said. "We did an emergency run with EMS to get her to hospital. They were unsuccessful in trying to save her. This is now a homicide investigation."
Police also couldn't say if the attack appeared random or not, but they say two men were seen running from the area. They're looking to the public for help in identifying the suspects responsible for both incidents.
