A woman is lucky to be alive after a random stabbing in the city's west end Friday night.
Toronto Police confirm a woman suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries after she was stabbed in the head, in the old village of Weston at around 10 p.m.
Two women were walking along in the King st. and Weston Road area when they were approached by a man who wasn't known to them.
According to Toronto Police, the man stabbed one of the women and then ran away, but he didn't get far according to spokesperson Gary Long.
"When we got on scene, the victim and the other party that was with her said that he went into a building. We proceeded to investigate and search and we located the suspect and he was placed into custody without any incident at all."
The suspect was arrested. The charge according to Long "attempted murder".
He appeared in court Saturday morning and was held over in custody.
