York Regional Police say a male is dead after bullets flew at a prom after-party in Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Police were called around 4 a.m. Friday to a large house on Bloomington Road east of Highway 48.
So far, there are no details on what lead to the shooting but police say two men were arrested, about a half hour later, not far from the scene.
The 16-year-old from Richmond Hill and 17-year-old from Newmarket, are both facing charges connected to a gun found nearby.
It's not clear if the two are connected.
Police say they received a call about two men on Bethesda Road, knocking on doors looking for someone to call them a taxi.
The pair were found hiding in some bushes. Police say the two could potentially be charged in connection with the death of the party-goer, if the evidence leads them in that direction.
Police could not tell us how old the victim was. They say they are still trying to identify him.
Police say the house was rented for the party through Airbnb.
A dad of one of the students who attended the party, confirmed to NEWSTALK1010, that all attended Bill Crothers Secondary School in Markham.
Officers believe believe there were as many as 200 people at the party but most left before police arrived.
