The father of a little girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert Tuesday, claims the whole thing was blown out of proportion.
He tells NEWSTALK 1010 sister station CP24, it was just like any other day. "I've been picking her up every day since she's been in school."
The alert went out yesterday afternoon about an alleged child abduction.
It ended about an hour later after Jaffri and his daughter were found safe in Markham
York Regional Police confirm that the father was interviewed and released without charges.
"I found it a joke," He says. "As well as I know my kid's mother, she is capable of doing spiteful things like this."
He says he found out about the amber alert when it went out to phones, TV and radio. It's not clear whether he called police when he heard his name.
Police would not confirm what was said to lead to the amber alert, only that something led them to be concerned about the girl's safety.
They say the investigation is ongoing but right now, there's no evidence to suggest an abduction took place.
