A Toronto man has been arrested and charged in an incident on the 404 Wednesday morning that left a man clinging to the hood of a car as the vehicle flew down the highway near Finch.
42-year-old Edward Ennis is now accused of dangerous driving and assault with weapon.
The man who ended up on the hood of the car claims he refused to let a driver merge around 10 a.m. According to Dave Yeomans, they eventually stopped in a live lane of traffic and the driver hurled a toolbox at him.
Yeomans stepped out of the car to take a picture of the license plate and says that's when the driver hit the gas and drove straight at him.
Yeoman's jumped on the hood and held on for 500 metres at highway speed before the driver hit the brakes and he slid off the side of the car without getting hurt.
The incredible scene from Wednesday morning was captured in video provided to CBC.
