Police say the deaths of a man and his four-year-old daughter in southern Ontario are not considered homicides.
Halton Regional Police say the two bodies were discovered at the base of an escarpment and had suffered injuries consistent with a fall.
They say an extensive search was organized Sunday evening after police received word that a man and his young daughter had not returned from an afternoon hike at the Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area in Milton, Ont.
Police say the two bodies were located within the conservation area just after 11 p.m. Sunday.
They say next of kin have been notified, though no names have been released.
Family, speaking to CP24, identified the little girl as four-year-old Keira Kagan.
A mix of rain and snow blanketed the region Sunday and police say their Search Incident Response Team, K9 Unit and Tactical Rescue Unit had faced challenging conditions from both the weather and the terrain.
