There is word of a new development in the case of a Toronto woman missing in Belize.
Jacqueline Logan, a friend of 52-year-old Francesca Matus, says police have found Matus' car abandoned in a field.
Logan tells NEWSTALK 1010's Moore in the Morning that police are now searching for her phone and looking through her phone records for clues.
Matus and the American man she was dating, 36-year-old Drew DeVoursney, haven't been seen since leaving a bar on Tuesday night.
She was supposed to fly home to Canada on Wednesday. The airline says Matus checked in to her flight online but she never showed up.
Matus owns property in Belize.
"She was boycotting snow and would go and stay there in the winter," Logan says.
Matus' friends are trying to remain positive. "We're trying to stay away from the dark side," Logan explains. "One stone at a time and we're just following the trail."
